First-half goals from Corey O’Keeffe and Adan George and a last-gasp effort from Kyle Hurst saw Birmingham City to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Town’s U23s at Portman Road and into a Professional Development League Two play-off final against Leeds United. The Blues U23s fell behind to O’Keeffe’s headed rebound in the third minute and never really looked like taking anything from the game once George had struck the second on 25 with Hurst adding his goal in injury time. The margin of victory would have been more convincing but for a series of impressive second-half saves from Harry Wright (pictured).

Tom Adeyemi scored and completed 45 minutes on his return from surgery on his achilles as Town's U23 side were well-beaten 4-1 by Nottingham Forest at Portman Road on Monday evening in their final league game of the season. The Blues were already four goals behind thanks to a hat-trick from Brennan Johnson, the son of former Town and Forest striker David, and one from Will Swan before Adeyemi pulled one back just before the break.

Kai Brown and Lounes Foudil scored the goals as Town’s table-topping U23s beat Watford 2-1 at Playford Road. Brown gave the young Blues the lead in the 24th minute before Marley Blair pulled one back for the Hornets, but sub Foudil sealed the victory 12 minutes from time.

Town's youngsters were dumped out of the Suffolk FA Premier Cup by Leiston after they were defeated 2-1 in their semi-final tie at Felixstowe & Walton United's Goldstar Ground on Wednesday evening. Tom Bullard gave the non-league side a half-time lead and although Thomas Hughes equalised for Town, sub Harrison Bacon sent Leiston through to the final with a stoppage-time winner.
